He is just to cute!

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 7:01 pm

That I can’t stand it! Elias was gone for a week and came home Saturday. He went on a vacation with his Pop-Pop and Noah to Gem Mountain in Spruce Pine, NC. He brought home so many cool gem’s from their mining trip. But as soon as he walked in the door he said, “Now that I am back can I have my Mohawk?” He cracks me up!

So today after cleaning for my Grandfather I took him to get it done! He is a cutie patootie and he knows it.

And this picture to include Adam, as you can see from the above photo, he wanted his picture taken too.

I love it, because it’s what he wanted and he loves it! That is all that matters.

My Nephew’s Birthday Party

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 12:07 pm

Last Saturday (6/13/09) the boys and I went to my nephew’s Zach’s 12th Birthday! First of all I can’t believe he is 12. Second the boys had a wild and crazy time. My sister and her husband got one of those huge water slides and it was a hit. Here are some photos of that day.

Friday 5 June 19-Dairy

1. What are your feelings about milk? I dislike milk. I won’t drink milk in a glass or as chocolate milk. I will eat cereal with it, but leave almost all the milk in the bowl when I am done. I also use it in coffee. I won’t even drink a milkshake or an alcoholic beverage made with milk or Kahlua.

2.What are your feelings about cheese? Love cheese! I can’t eat to much of it, but I love it. The more cheese on a pizza or in lasagna the happier I am!

3.What are your feelings about yogurt? Yogurt is yummy! Even my kids love it. But I love the fruit on the bottom kind. I like to mix it myself.

4. How do you feel about soy milk? I have never tried it and not sure if I ever will, especially since I don’t like regular milk.

5. How far are you from the nearest cow? Pretty close, they are right down the road. You can smell them before you see them ;)

Tagged: Six Things

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 10:39 am

Erin tagged me on her blog yesterday. This is from excerpt is from Penny’s Blog.

“We all need to focus on the things that bring us happiness more, instead of wallowing in the things that annoy and upset us. As Bean so aptly put it “Silly things are quite important for the well-being of all humans”

Here’s how it works:
* List Six Silly Things That Make You Happy
* Mention and link to the person who tagged you
* Tag six of your favorite bloggers to play along

Here are my 6 things that make me smile all the time!

1) The Morning. Specifically early morning when I am the only one up. Every morning after my trip to the bathroom :) I head to each of my children’s room. I check on each one just like I do right before I go to sleep. I smile every time. Because they are just so precious and innocent, while they are sleeping. Even Miss soon to be 18 yr old Susan. Adam still sleeps with his fists clenched like he did when he was a baby.

2) Random Phone Calls. Almost every day Dale calls me. Always at different times. He calls just to say love you, miss you and see how we all are. Even if he is really busy, he takes the time to do it. It’s a blessing to hear a sane voice in the midst of chaos sometimes!

3) Cleaning & Laundry. I am sure that this is an odd one but I love to clean for my Grandfather. Going to his house and just knowing that I am helping him and that I get to be close to him, makes me smile every time. I love to do laundry. Most of the time when I am folding clothes (especially the kids clothes) I do a whole lot of remembering. It could be about the day they wore that particular outfit or just looking at them and remembering back when they were small. I also have a habbit of smelling the clothes as I am folding them. Gotta love Downy!

4) Adamism’s. He just cracks me up on a regular basis, with the things that he comes up with.

*Wake up Mom, It’s morning O’clock in the morning.

*My body is not full of water it’s full of Kool Aid

*You hear those crickets? They are cricketing!

*Elias is Elias’ Dales Roses and I am Adam Dales Roses

*Cat’s have brains but its small, look in Roxie’s ear you can see it

*My dinosaurs name is Trapaspikasaurus

*The moon is following us, why, we aren’t going to the toy store!

*Look a bee on the bee flower, oh he almost hit me, he was buzzing and he

said he was sorry.

5) Video Games. At first when we got the gaming systems I was not happy about it. The hours spent sitting in front of the TV shooting, racing and zombies all the time was a little troubling. But now since the novelty has worn off some, they don’t spend a lot of time playing them. When they do like this morning, it makes me smile to see Elias and Adam sitting next to each other while Elias plays. And Adam is routing him on. Elias is very patiently explaining things to Adam and I can see the brotherly love happening. Although, it doesn’t last very long.

6) Digital Scrapbooking. Yes it is a hobby of mine or addiction which ever you prefer. But I get all happy and smiley when a new kit comes out that is just amazing. I already have a plan in my head of what pictures I want to use and most of the time the layout of it.

Now I am to tag 6 people to do this little meme of six things. Emily, Angie, Michelle, Jennifer, Elise and MelissaC.

Friday 5 June 12: Eat & Drink

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 9:19 am

1. What’s something you will not eat unless you also have ketchup? I don’t think there is anything. I like to have Ketchup for my fries, but will eat them without it.

2. What’s something you will not drink unless it is served on ice cubes? Hands down Iced Tea with Lemon!

3. What’s something you will not eat unless it is served between slices of bread? That would be tuna salad or bologna.

4. What’s something you will not drink unless you have a straw? Any beverage from a Restaurant or Fast Food place. I just can’t imagine drinking out of a glass or plastic cup from either of those places.

5. What’s something else you will not eat except under very specific circumstances? Cake, I am not a big cake fan. I like it just it has to be a special occasion for me to want to eat it. Like a birthday or something.

You can go here to see other responses to the questions this week :)

Elias & Adam

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 9:39 am

Penny made an interesting comment on my Memory Lane Monday post yesterday. She thought that Elias and Adam would look more alike. When I was pregnant with Adam, thought so too. I just knew I was going to have two blond boys. So Penny this is for you :) These photos are taken of them at the same age, 15 months. You can clearly see that Elias is definitely looks more like my side of the family and Adam looks more like Dale’s side. AND let me tell you their personalities match the sides they look like..haha!

Friday 5

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 8:38 am

I was having a little bit of writers block today, other than Susan’s Graduation on Monday, it has been a fairly uneventful week here. Which is an awesome thing! So, I went around the blogging world to see if there was a Friday Meme that I could do for days like this and I found one :)

1. What bugs truly freak you out?

I am going to have to say spiders, they are ugly creepy looking things, moths and ants! In the summer they are everywhere!

2. Which Bugs Bunny cartoon do you remember most fondly?

Love Bugs Bunny, brings back a lot of memories of Saturday morning cartoons when I was younger. The one that is most memorable for me is Rabbit Fire! I went to You Tube and looked it up. This is the one where Daffy & Bugs argue over what season it is.

3.What bugs you most about your life online?

I have a lot the bugs me about my online life, but I guess it would have to be those that are online and want to be private, well its the internet and nothing is private! Don’t put something out there if you don’t want some one to read it.

4. Which of your favorite websites seems often to be especially buggy?

None of the ones I use is relatively buggy, maybe Facebook, it takes forever to switch pages.

5.When were you last too sick to get out of bed?

A couple of months ago, I had a horrible head and chest cold. But I managed to still take care of our 4 kids without complaint ;)

If you want to play along, make a comment and I will check it out!

My daughter IS a highschool Graduate!

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 12:21 pm

Woot woot, come on everyone and do the happy dance with! She made it, I made, we all made it. As my sister says we are so glad this story has a happy ending! We all have been through a lot in the past year or so and I am just so proud of my girl!

A couple thank yous are in order. First thank you so much Michelle for coming over and watching the boys for me and watching 2 extra ones at the last minute. You are a life saver and a really great friend, love ya! Elise, thank you so much for capturing the photos and video that I could not (those will be coming soon). All of my family and friends that were able to come out to graduation last night. It was so nice for Susan to be surrounded by people that love and care about her as much as we do. Thanks, to those of you who could not be there for your emails, encouraging words and love!

I have to say I have never seen a football stadium as packed as that one was last night. We got there relatively early and still had to sit on the grass. Which was fine because I had a perfect view of Susan.

This is the stadium (click on any photo to make larger)
