A taste of down under

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 12:44 pm

This was in my mailbox yesterday.

What lovely eye candy! Thanks Angie for thinking of me while you were in Australia. You will be happy to know I didn’t lick the post card ( took a lot of will power), I just put it on my night stand and stared at it a while ;) ….well it was there when I woke up too. What a nice wake up picture. Thanks sweetie, big hugs & lots of love! I am so glad you are home!

Memories

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 9:33 am

This morning I was going through some old pictures of the house that I grew up in and I came across this picture.

I am not sure who birthday this was, probably mine & my sisters. Our birthdays are only 4 days apart. She is the one in the red shorts to the right (sporting her little half top..teehee) and I am…well all you can see is my head by the backdoor. It occurred to me I have almost the same picture of Elias’ 2nd birthday taken almost in the exact same spot at that house.

This is Elias hitting his sponge bob pinata with Daddy’s help.

In this picture is my sister helping the kids gather candy (what no half top this time..:)  )

In the very first picture you can see my grandmother standing next to the oil drum, sporting her sunglasses.  She was always at our parties and Elias’ party was no different, she was there as well too.

What great memories that house has for our family. I was lucky enough to live there twice. When I was growing up and then again when Mom got married and moved away. I raised 2 of my children there. The house was sold this year and every time I go by there I get flooded with memories.

Conversation with my Sister

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 10:24 pm

Chris-”I finished Butch’s book this weekend. I read all weekend.”

Me-”I told you, that you would love these books.”

Chris-”Yeah, Uhmmmm the library can’t get me the next book for 3 weeks.”

Me-”So, you want to borrow mine..huh?”

Chris-”YES!”

Bwahahahahahaha! Poor thing, I turned her on to The Black Dagger Brotherhood books by JR Ward and she is addicted just like me. I was surprised that she didn’t drive all the way here just to get them. :)
Look Erin, we converted another one!

Yawn

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 8:09 pm

There really hasn’t been much to blog about lately. Just getting ready for school to start on the 2nd. Dale and I have another date night tomorrow. Elise has been my life saver, we have been switching on and off night we need sitters, every other weekend. That we both get a break. She is the bestest ;)
We are down now to 2 cats. We had to get rid of Amun the kitten, because he was wrecking havoc on my house and really stressing out the other 2 female cats we had. We almost gave them all away, but we had a change of heart. 3 cats and 4 kids, plus all the housework and chaos that goes on in my daily life, was taking a huge toll on me. He went to a great home with a dog and a 3 year old boy and he is so happy and my 2 other cats are so happy. There has been a 180 degree change in my house since he left. Very nice to have calm back, well sort of.

Today is Elise’s 30th birthday!

Dale and I wanted you to know how much we love you and value your friendship. You have been there for us on countless occasions. We enjoy spending time with you and the kids. I can’t believe I have known you for over 9 years, I thank my brother for that! Thank you for giving Dale and I 2 of the best niece and nephew. You are super special to our family and hold a special place in our home and in our hearts. I hope your day is spent doing the things you want to do and that you are pampered to no end. No going into work girl today, you hear me?!?! I love ya bunches!

Remember these ;)

Of course I have tons of other pictures, but I will save those for another time…LOL!

Birthday

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 9:10 am

I managed not to cry for the rest of the day, even though my friend Michelle came over to spend the afternoon with me, and brought me lunch, a birthday present and a yummy cake. She is just to super sweet! We sat around just chit chatting and all of the kids, 9 of them to be exact ran around having a blast.

Later in the afternoon, Susan and I watched a movie and in the evening I watched my favorites shows. The boys went to Royal Rangers, so it was basically a quiet evening. Which was perfect!

Dale and I are planning our birthday weekend today, he took the day off and tomorrow we will be going out. The first time in several months. We will probably do some shopping and have dinner at Outback. I am really looking forward to this. Elise is the best and will be watching our rug rats for us. Thanks sweetie, we love you!

It’s my birthday, I’ll cry if I want to.

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 10:51 am

That’s right today is my *cough* 37th *cough* birthday.

I have already cried at least 3 times today. First was this morning, when I was up early, looked in on my sleeping kids and then at a sleeping Dale. Those babies are mine, wow! In 37 years how did I get so lucky?

Then I got on my moms playgroup forum and my friend Erin (who shares and anniversary on my birthday) made a Happy Birthday post for me. I have such wonderful, loving friends. I feel so much love from them on a daily basis, how did I get to be so blessed? BTW Erin, I DO feel your big birthday bear hug all the way from West Virginia.

Then my Mom. She posted a sweet birthday wish for me on her blog this morning. Yup you guessed it, cried again. Because all through everything with me her love has always been a constant. Thank you Mom.

Oh wait lets not forget the Birthday Card my Father and Audrey sent me earlier in the week. I cried re-reading that this morning. Thank you both for having so much faith in me and loving me.

So what’s that 4 times…ughhh! Can I be more of a blubbering mess? Get a grip Trish!

This morning, I have been thinking of 37 things that I have been blessed with.

Happy Birthday, SIS!

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 10:02 am

I won’t revel your age, although you are younger than me…lol! I just want you to know that I love you. I love the fact we have grown so much closer in the past couple months. I love hanging out with you and our kids and that our other halfs get along so well. Who knew we would be with men who are so much alike. Not sure if that is a good thing or not!

I hope you have a wonderful day, even though you have to work. Remember I love you!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE SIS!

God on the mountain

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 6:39 pm

I went to my old church this morning to hear my grandfather sing. It has been a very long time since I have heard him sing in church. I never would have thought he would do it now since Mom-Mom has been gone. I have heard him play his guitar and sing at home, but today I was just the most amazing thing to see. It was just him, his guitar and God. I wish I had my camera to get a video of him, but I found the song on You Tube. Lord knows he has been in the valley many, many times and he has always held his head high with God in the valley with him.

I love you very much, Pop-Pop!

Listen to the song. Its so true and so beautiful.
