For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food,
For love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.

I have been thinking about my Grandmother lately, so I did some layouts.

Congratulations Larry!

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 6:42 pm

My dear friends Maria & Chad, have had this adorable little boy in their care since he was 7 weeks old. Today, he became an “official” Stewart. I can’t tell you how excited I am for them.

To know Larry and all of his siblings is such a special blessing. I have known all of them for almost 2 years and let me tell you, once you meet them you are instantly hooked! Maria is a wonderful mother and friend, I know how special today was for her.  She has walked a long road for Larry, has been there for him in every way a mother can be. She has been his voice even before he could speak. I don’t think anyone else could have been a better mother to him. So this celebration isn’t just about Larry and his adoption day, it is a celebration for Maria too, because she has been his mother from the very start.

I love ya, Larry! Your parents rock!

Alone time

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 10:06 pm

This past Saturday Dale told me that he wanted me to go out somewhere by myself. A mental health day of sorts. He and Susan were going to take care of the boys and I could do whatever I wanted. Panic set in immediately!

I hate to be alone, I really do. I love to be without kids, but with someone else. I have to have conversation. So after seeking the advice of my wonderful friends, I started out by myself. The first thing I did was listen to MY radio station really loud and I sang really loud. I didn’t have to hear “Oh gosh Mom not country” or “Mom do you have to sing?” or “Boom boom boom boom” from the speakers as the vibrated from the hip hop station.

I cruised on over to my friend Maria’s for an adoption party for Larry. WOOT WOOT Larry and the rest of the Stewart clan–love ya! It was great fun. I was able to hold other peoples babies and not have mine trying to crawl in my lap out of jealousy. I ate a whole piece of cake without Adam’s little pudgy fingers in my icing. I also didn’t have to say “stop that”, “come back here”, “don’t touch that” or my all time favorite that I say through gritted teeth “wait until we get home!”

Afterwards I went to the Goodwill store. I love that place and looking for treasures in someone else’s junk. I realized that my sister was right near by so I called her up and God love her, she came over and shopped with me! Her and I had the best time, laughing and looking for bargains. I didn’t even have to say “don’t crawl under the clothes rack”, “stop pulling the tags”, “no you can’t have that toy, it has one wheel”, “there is no bathroom, hold it”, “5 more minutes and then we will go” and ” take that hat off your head, you have no idea who’s head that was on.”. Although, my sister did put a ugly hat on her head and she had to say that to herself!

I got a phone call from Melissa around dinner time and she wanted to have dinner with me. Unfortunately my sister couldn’t join us. So off I went to Applebee’s. Heaven, can I just repeat that…HEAVEN! Her and I sat and talked uninterrupted for almost 2 hours and had the best time. I ordered what I wanted and even had dessert.  I was able to finish a sentence with out saying “shhh, I’m talking”, I was able to eat my pickle (Adam is a pickle thief), didn’t have to say “turn around”, “stop playing drums with the utensils”, “leave the sugar, the salt, the pepper, the menus-Alone!”, “no you can not get out”. It was peaceful, it was full-filling. It was everything that my friends said it would be and more.

So even though I wasn’t completely alone, I was. And I enjoyed every minute of it. Have I mentioned lately how much I love my friends! Meliss, Angie, Erin, Jennifer, Maria and the rest of the Just Moms crew, thanks for giving me the push I needed. *MUAH*

Digital Scrapbooking Day

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 6:47 pm

I have been totally worthless today, because of DSD=Digital Scrapbooking Day! I have spent most of the day sitting at this computer playing fun games and challenges over at MSA.

I have neglected my house, my kids and my darling sweetheart…hey but there is free digital goodies to be had all over the digital scrapbooking web!

My computer is upstairs in the game room, so of course my darling children had to be where I was. They played video games all morning…yup they left a mess. Adam even decided to bring the chalk upstairs and color on a coloring book. He left chalk dust all over the floor ;)  I don’t even care..teehee!

My darling daughter took this opportunity to just veg out on the couch in her jammies all day and be glued to the TV. Did I care…NOPE!

Elias came running upstairs to inform me Adam made a huge mess. I guess he was looking for something :) If your thinking I stopped to clean that up, nah….you would be mistaken.

Last year Dale told me to get a hobby :) So, when he came upstairs and said what’s for dinner and I said…”HUH” he could not complain! I have my hobby.

One thing did stop me playing games and doing challenges. It was this little face. And he was staring up at me and said, “Mommy, hold me.”

Not any digital goody is better than that angelic face ;)
Anyway, I still have tomorrow…bwahahahahaha!

Halloween 2007

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 6:04 pm

We had such a wonderful time last night. Thank you Melissa, for letting us walk with you and your precious Dorothy and Kitty Cat! It was so wonderful also to have Penny and Reagan with us as well that was a nice surprise! I never like to do things by myself, I am not a loner, so this was great. The kids had fun and I had some adult conversation!

We were not able to even put a dent in the neighborhood we went around, because for one it was huge and for two our kiddos were starting to complain. Poor little things, they were so tired and their bags full. So thanks to my 2 good friends for keeping me company last night. Only 364 more days until next Halloween ;)

Adam the Duck-Thanks Erin for letting us borrow this, I am sure the previous owner would appreciate it!
