Proud Mom Moment

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 2:32 pm

My daughter Susan who is 14 had a spring orchestra concert & it was awesome. She has played the violin since she was 9 and she has talent! I get goose bumps when I listen to her play, last night in the middle of William Tells Overture I had tears in my eyes. It is just amazing to see how she has grown over these 5 years of playing. Incredible!

I wish I had my camera to take some video, but I forgot to get new batteries :p You would think I would remember, it is mommyhiemers I tell ya.

A day at the park

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 2:07 pm

I just love taking my boys to the park.

Adam has learned to walk fairly well now & he isnt falling down as much. He is discovering all sorts of new things in his world. One thing I did notice he doesnt like his hands dirty! He walks to me with them out to his sides, so I can wipe them off.

When it was time to walk through to see the animals, Elias gets so excited because he love the alligators. This year for his birthday he wanted me to get him one, he was devistated when I told him he couldn’t have one & the reasons why. He then preceeded to tell me that they would be very happy to be in our back yard than that stupid fence.

It isnt warm enough yet for the alligators to come out into the fenced area of their home, so each time Elias spends at least 15 mins with his face plastered to the glass. Today he even had his binoculars :)

I had great company today at the park. Some ladies from my SAHM’s Group were there and it is always nice to have adult conversation in the midst of “mommy, I wanna snack, I gotta pee, I am thirtsy, can you push me on the swing……” I truly enjoyed enjoy today, I am so relaxed, not to mention the kids are all napping now ;)

This is the actual Alligator at our Zoo-AKA Elias’ Buddy!

A ramble

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 11:38 am

My house could use a good scrub and I want to do that but I have no motivation to do it. I need to go through all this crap lying around here. When did I accumulate so much stuff? It is insane, I have already done this 2 times before (when we werent even thinking about moving).

We kicked our cat outside, because we had fleas in our carpet. We set off 3 of those flea bombs off and I believe we dont have a problem anymore. But the house is a complete wreck because my wonderful fiance' moved all the stuff from under the beds and all the toys off the floor.  It is just utter chaos around here.

I have boxes all along the wall of my living room, packed and ready to be moved. I am getting so overwhelmed with stuff, I dont know where to start. UGH!!!!

Maybe I should stop writing about it, get up and do something……ROFL!!!

Break a leg

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 10:10 pm

My son who turned 4 on April 4th, had the worst birthday week in history. First he was seriously ill with inner ear infection and chest cold. When he is feeling well I let him outside and an hour later he is carried back in with what looks like a broken leg. He got his foot caught in the back tire of a bike! OUCH! Luckily no bones were broken, but they casted it anyway. So he is sporting a bright red cast, color of his choice…LOL! OHHH the joys of having children!

Fatherhood

Yesterday I was watching Dr Phil and his show was on Baby Wars

. There was a young man on the show that has filed a lawsuit about his constitutional right to avoid being a father. It is being called a Roe V Wade for Men. In a nut shell, she said she could not get pregnant & was on the pill. He didn’t use protection and she became pregnant. He believes since he didn’t want to be a father that he should have a choice when she was pregnant, ie abortion or adoption. She is now receiving $500 in child support, he feels like he should not have to pay, because he was not given an option about the child.

All I have to say is this, he did make a choice when he decided not to wear a condom and now there is a baby, he can sign away his rights and be done with it. Not do all this public hoopla and in my opinion embarrass himself!

That poor baby, he wants nothing to do with her and has never held her or talked to her. I feel so bad for her.

I was reading the message boards on Dr Phil’s website and there are several good points on either side. A couple of quotes that I found really profound.

“At the end of the day it comes down to responsibility. Children don’t ask to be born into a legal battle. If you don’t want a child - don’t have unprotected sex.”

“Sex is fun, and sex makes babies. If you are really opposed to having children, then you should not be having sex. ”

“What if we start thinking about the tables being turned? What if the man wants the baby but the woman wants to have an abortion? What then? If women have choices, men should have choices. We as women want to be equals. We have fought for so long, and are still fighting, for our rights to be considered equals. Yet, we want to have the rules one way when it’s in our favor and the other way when it’s not??!! We can’t have it both ways. We either consider the child a child and treat this child as if it were out of the womb OR we decide it’s a choice and it’s not a child until post-womb. We can’t have both. We can’t be selfish just because it’s our bodies, just because we’re the womb. Either it’s a choice or it’s not! After that is decided, then if it’s a choice the man should have his choice, if it’s not a choice and it’s a child, then a father he should be able to refuse or use his parental rights!”

I guess at the end of the day a person has to look at themselves & be happy with what they see. In this incident, down the road I am not sure if this guy will be able to do that. Although he could be as cold in real life as he came off in the show and be totally ok.

It will be interesting to see how things unfold.

Did you clean?

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 9:29 am

MaidIrritating is the word I am looking for!

Yesterday I cleaned my house, which BTW is not an unusual occurance (note sarcasim), but Dale comes home and said oh did you clean? I said yes, why? Oh I can tell he says.

WTF!! Can he not tell the other 364 days that this happens? I swear men really really make me sick sometimes! If it wasnt for me, this guy would not know where anything is, especially his socks!!!

Starting Over

Filed under: Daily Thoughts — Trish @ 10:56 am

I never thought that I would start a blog again, because to me it seemed like a huge waste of time. Who would ever read it anyway? I mean isn’t that why we decide to make a journal on the world wide web in hopes that someone will read it. Make it available for someone to read it? Or if you have a slam against someone, a mean thought about a topic, have a place to talk about someone or something with the hopes that whoever was involved will see it, read it and hey if they do comment on it, you can delete their comments. Oh and lets not forget the tracker people put on their blogs to “see” who is reading….I find it laughable!

I may seem like I am blabbering on about something that makes no sense, but there is a point to me starting this blog over again! Eventually “that” someone will read it and maybe just maybe be able to see that they aren’t the only one who has a valuable opinion. What makes me laugh is I was respectfully asked not to read a particular blog, by the person’s author……I have not done so since, well except to click on it for a brief moment to delete it from my favorites. Let me tell you though I am seriously ticked, because I pay for my internet connection and who is this person to tell me where I can and cant go on the internet, that I pay for!?!?! I read several blogs on a weekly if not daily basis, because I find their lives very interesting and how they write. I would think that if you didn’t want someone to read it, then make it private or write on paper!

Who knows whether I will read it ever again or not, because in the end, is it worth it?
